Ampicillin Trihydrate is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic for veterinary use. As the first aminopenicillin developed, it remains widely used in both injectable and oral formulations for livestock and companion animals.

Ampicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis during active replication, providing bactericidal activity against susceptible organisms. It has a broader spectrum than penicillin G, effectively covering many Gram-negative bacteria alongside Gram-positive pathogens commonly encountered in veterinary practice.
